[From the evening "Watan" program news of Turkmen Television December 5th, 2007]
A meeting was held today at the Supreme Council of Science and Technology under the President of Turkmenistan with the managers of the Internet Access and Training Program, who had especially arrived for this occasion from the United States. The meeting was attended by scientists, representatives of public organizations, researchers, and educators.

Speakers noted the steps taken under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan towards developing the educational system and bringing it to modern standards. Steps made towards providing Internet access to each citizen serves as a bright example of that work. During the meeting, opinions of experienced specialists in the field of Internet access and expansion were heard and discussed.

…The online resources are available for Turkmen citizens as well as for others around the world. Through websites created in Turkmenistan, people can learn more about Turkmenistan. We will continue to support the development of new skills and resources for Web technologies and expanding opportunities for development. We see the importance of Internet technology playing a key role for the development of Turkmenistan, and we will continue our cooperation in this field.”
